An interesting article by Tony Rotherham who notes that "there are some unusual things going on in forest certification." He discusses forest certification trends in Canada and why some forest certification systems seem to be losing ground over others, including:
– The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) which now leads in Canada with 88 million ha of forestland certified to their requirements
– The CSA Standard, developed specifically for use in Canada's publicly owned forests
– The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
