CHICAGO (September 29, 2016) – Forests Ontario has joined Two Sides North America, the non-profit organization that promotes and encourages the responsible production, use, and sustainability of print and paper.
“Education on sustainable forestry is a key element in getting the public, and especially younger generations, to understand and appreciate the sustainable features of forest products. Forests Ontario is doing a fantastic job at this and they are a great fit for Two Sides. We look forward to working with them in the future,” said Two Sides North America President, Phil Riebel.
“It is important to increase the public's awareness of sustainably managed forests and their role in ensuring a healthy society and robust economy. We look forward to collaborating with Two Sides in our collective efforts to engage our youth and provide the public with fact-based information about our forests,” said Rob Keen, CEO, Forests Ontario.
About Forests Ontario
At Forests Ontario, we’re dedicated to making Ontario’s forests greener. Our ambitious tree planting initiatives, extensive education programs, and decades of community outreach have helped plant millions of trees in the province each year—and it’s through these efforts that we’re bringing our vision for healthier forests to a new generation of stewards, partners, teachers, and donors. In schools across the province, Forests Ontario’s forestry education programs are connecting students with their environment and potential futures in forestry. These leaders will help us grow smarter, healthier and greener forests, and sustainably manage Ontario’s most important natural resource for decades to come.
