All around the country this summer, teachers will be
going out into the forest and learning about the environment
through sustainable forestry teachers tours. These tours offer a priceless opportunity to learn about forests
and the environment first hand, says Kathryn Fernholz, Executive
Director of Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental
non-profit that supports science-based learning. The tours provide an opportunity for educators to become immersed
in the social, economic and ecological aspects of sustainable
forestry. Teachers are provided with beneficial information to take
back to their classrooms, empowering students with information needed
to make positive change.
