Sustainable Green Printing (SGP)
Partnership has announced a partnership with Re-nourish, an online
community advocating awareness and action for sustainability in the
communication design community. The goal for the two, like-minded
organizations is to grow the sustainability movement, making it easy for
design and printing professions to choose print facilities that have
committed to operating fully sustainable operations. As part of the
partnership, Re-nourish will soon replace its Greener Printer Directory
on its website, and feature SGP Certified print facilities. These
Certified facilities demonstrate sustainability for their entire print
operations by meeting requirements determined by a publicly vetted set
of criteria. SGP will also feature Re-nourish sustainable design
resources on their website to aid in the dialogue between printers and
communication designers.
“We are committed to sustainable design throughout the supply chain,
so partnering with SGP will better serve in working towards a truly
sustainable design profession,” comments Yvette Perullo,Partner,
Re-nourish.
“Sustainability in the design of our printed products continues to be
a critical element for our SGP Certified facilities,” states Paul
Lilienthal, Chair, SGP Board of Directors. “Partnering with Re-nourish
highlights SGP’s commitment and desire to integrate sustainability into
each aspect of our process.”
Re-nourish recognizes SGP Certification as a means to avoid
‘greenwashing.’ SGP Certification also allows for a strong return on
investment by identifying operational improvements and waste reductions.
Print facilities currently listed in Re-nourish’s Greener Printer Directory are encouraged to apply for SGP Certification.
